Summer Intern

Engineering Operations is looking for engineering interns to join and experience the world of structural inspection. We are here to provide you with hands-on, in the field experience. Join our team for the summer if the below details interest you:

  • In-depth training from well-known leaders in the industry.

  • Professional development support, we are willing to support your structural engineering interests including receiving certifications in commercial diving and/or rope access.
Engineer in Training

Multiple positions – Perform field visits and bridge safety inspections for various state Departments of Transportation as well as local government and private clients. Evaluate structural load ratings using AASHTO specifications and AASHTO BrR software, using various non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment (such as Ultrasonic Flaw Detector and Resistograph) to evaluate structural integrity of bridges and rope access (SPRAT) climbing techniques to physically inspect fracture critical bridges, signs, and high mast light towers. Coordinate land surveying with Total Station equipment and transfer collected data to model 3-D surfaces. Interpret data received from field inspections and testing results to create comprehensive bridge reports detailing bridge conditions and defects regarding the structural integrity of bridge inventory for submittal to the client. Coordinate with Deputy and Senior Project Managers on all projects. Off-site travel required for field inspections approximately 16 to 24 weeks per year.

 

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field and successful passing of the FE Exam as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Bentley Microstation and Open Roads software, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, AASHTOWare BrR – Load Rating, land surveying.  Send resumes to M Slattery, HR, Engineering Operations, 10397 W. Inspector Diver

We’re looking for inspector divers to join eO and utilize their skills in the field of bridge inspection. Engineering Operations is here to provide you with a variety of diving experiences including; swift water, low-visibility, deep water, high elevation, and penetration dives. Join our team if your experience and interests are aligned with the following:

  • Currently certified as a commercial diver.
  • Interest in bridge inspection.
  • Significant advancement opportunities, our small business is growing and looking for leaders who come ready to learn and take on more every day.
  • Professional development support, we are willing to support your career interests including receiving further certification as a commercial dive supervisor or adding rope access to your expertise.
Professional Engineer
Professional Engineer (any state licensure) with a  background in NBIS Bridge Inspection. Familiarity and knowledge of Bridge Rating Assessment (BrR/BRASS or similar) and various NDT techniques and equipment. Experience around ADCI dive or SPRAT rope access operations is a huge plus.  A willingness to travel, take on project management responsibilities, and desire for growth are a must. We are seeking engineers who want to create opportunity for themselves!
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with Professional Engineering licensure (PE) in area of expertise. 
  • Experience in Bridge Inspection, rating or design as an EIT. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, Drafting software (MicroStation, Open Roads, AutoCad, Civil 3d, ASHTO Ware or Similar)
  • Interest in Load Rating work
